Residential Building Service Manager

Due to the retirement of the current, valued and long-serving staff member, Grendon Primary School is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, reliable and self-motivated Building Services Manager to join our team of hard-working, skilled support staff who are committed to our WE CAN ethos.

Grade 3 – Point 9 – 22

Salary £26,409 to £32,654

Hours per week: 36.50 all year round (working split shift)

6.30am – 10.30am and 2.30pm – 6pm (Monday-Thursday)
and
6.30am - 10.30am and 3pm – 5.30pm (Friday).

Contract Type: Permanent.

Start Date: 1st July 2025.

We are looking for someone:

  • to be responsible for the management of the overall provision of security, janitorial and cleaning services at our school and the associated cleaning staff.
  • to be responsible for the management of the repairs and maintenance of the school site.
  • to monitor the work of external contractors on site.

The successful candidate will:

  • have high standards and take a pride in their work.
  • be committed to the improvement of our school and its environment.
  • play an important role in our school, interacting with pupils, parents and other stakeholders alike.
  • be able to identify and prioritise their own workload, approaching all tasks with a “WE CAN” attitude.
  • have experience in care-taking and cleaning work and have knowledge of maintenance and cleaning techniques.
  • have a commitment to training and professional development.
  • be able to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing with all stakeholders.
  • be able to deal with emergency situations.
  • reside in the property adjacent to the school site (available from November 2025).

Pastoral Manager

Grendon Primary School is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, reliable and self-motivated Pastoral Manager to join our team of hard-working, skilled support staff who are committed to our WE CAN ethos.

Grade 4 Point 23-31

Salary: £33,366 to £40,476 pro-rata

Hours per week: 32.50 Term Time Only

Contract Type: Permanent

Start Date: 1st September 2025.

We are looking for someone:

  • to uphold our WE CAN ethos.
  • to be a valued member of our Pastoral Team leading, our Pastoral curriculum and delivering our school vision for it to remove barriers to learning and develop strength of character.
  • to assist the Leadership Team in planning, implementing, monitoring, evaluating and improving pastoral strategies used in school, including those with an attendance, behaviour, mental health and wellbeing and safeguarding focus.

The successful candidate will:

  • have high standards and take a pride in their work.
  • be committed to the improvement of our school and its environment.
  • play an important role in our school, interacting with pupils, parents and other stakeholders alike.
  • be able to identify and prioritise their own workload, approaching all tasks with a “WE CAN” attitude.
  • have experience and a proven track record of managing attendance, supporting families and working with other professionals and agencies.
  • have a commitment to training and professional development, including in child protection.
  • be able to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing with all stakeholders.
  • be IT literate.
