Choir

Mr Bache runs the Choir, supported by Mrs. Fox and Mrs. Suthers.

Previous Projects

The choir were part of the Young Voices Concert on Monday 30th January. The concert took place at the Genting Arena and they were joined by over 4000 other children and a live band. The children and staff had a great day.

In Summer 2016 the choir recorded their first music video. We did a cover of the classic hit 'Perfect day.'

In December 2015 won the Free Radio Christmas Stars competition. We won £200 worth of music vouchers and our song was played on Free Radio on Christmas Day .

FREE RADIO CHRISTMAS STARS VIDEO

In November 2015 the School Choir were involved in recording a CD 'Now That's What I Call A Grendon Christmas.' The children worked extremely hard on the day and had to be very patient as we often had to re-record things to make our CD sound as amazing as possible.

Music and Instruments

There are opportunities for children in Key Stage 2 to learn and play musical instruments at Grendon. These lessons are provided by visiting teachers from Services for Education. Ms. Davis offers violin lessons to children on a Wednesday afternoon. Miss Fox teaches woodwind instruments to children on Tuesday afternoon. Learning an instrument is a fantastic extra skill for children to develop in addition to their statutory Music curriculum time.

Sports Club

Mr Groves leads Sports Club with different year groups throughout the week. The aim of the club is to increase participation in sports and to learn a range of game based activities.

Book Club

Miss Broughton leads Book Club where the aim is to work towards earning a Blue Peter book badge.

We will be reading different stories together and taking part in activities that will provide children with the opportunity to apply for the badge.

Children need to apply for the badges themselves, but we can collect and send completed application forms off in one envelope, we will provide the application forms for you to complete. It can take up to 12 weeks after the forms have been sent off for any badges to be received, these will be sent to your home address but we’d love to see them if you receive one
