Attendance

Congratulations to 5D who had the best attendance last week! 99.23%! Well done, you are superstars!

You will appreciate that, by law, children must attend school regularly. Periods of absence are harmful to a child's education and need to be kept to a minimum. Parents must expect a telephone call if their child does not arrive in school by 9.30am and no explanation has been given. These calls are at a cost to the school and very time consuming and your full support would be appreciated. If your child is absent from school a note of explanation is required on the day of return to school. An absence that has not been explained by a telephone call or a letter is, by law, classified as an unauthorised absence. The Education Welfare Officer is notified and will contact the parents in due course. If your child needs to visit a dentist or doctor during school time, please telephone or write to let the school know in advance. The child must be collected from school, via the class teacher, by a parent or responsible adult.
