Welcome to the Grendon Primary School Website

It is my pleasure and privilege to welcome you to the website of Grendon Primary School; a school that I joined in September 2008 as a Year 4 class teacher and one which I am now extremely proud to lead as the Headteacher.

Grendon is a welcoming and aspirational school where we put children and their families at the heart of everything we do. We encourage children to be resilient, independent and hardworking and we, in turn, provide a nurturing, inclusive and safe community built on a positive and trusting relationship between school, families and the wider community.

Grendon continues to be a good and improving school; one in which children, parents, staff and Governors work together to ensure that our ‘We Can’ ethos is at the heart of everything we do.

Our Vision highlights our focus on both academic and pastoral curricula. Our pastoral curriculum ensures children are safe, removes barriers to learning and develops strength of character. The result is that children are happy, healthy and ready to learn. Our academic curriculum offers structure and opportunity. High quality teaching ensures that all children are engaged by and involved in their learning, making strong progress.

When children speak, we really listen! Our elected Junior Leaders ensure that the ideas generated by children from across the school have the opportunity to be heard and, as a result, positive changes are made.

One of the many aspects that makes Grendon a very special and unique place to be is the staff. Their professionalism, care and commitment ensures that every lesson has the power to change a life, and to nurture children who not only achieve academically but grow into thoughtful, confident individuals ready to thrive in the world and demonstrate a ‘We Can’ mindset. Many of the staff started their careers at Grendon and have since progressed to become leaders within the school.

At Grendon we are fully committed to providing the best education within a caring, family atmosphere. In all we do, we aim to instil in every pupil an awareness of their own strengths, abilities, talents and responsibilities so that they can become good citizens in the world in which they live.

Grendon Primary School is located within a large site, providing numerous spacious playgrounds, grassed areas, a woodland walk and other dedicated places that are used as part of our broad and balanced curriculum. This is something that we are very fortunate to have and something that we make the most of throughout the academic year.

For those of you that know us, our website is a useful source of information, providing up-to-date information on school events, activities and policies, as well as signposting you to additional support and resources where required.

For those of you who are new to us, it is our hope that it helps you begin to find out about what makes Grendon such a great place to be!
